E Komo Mai! or WELCOME! in Hawaiian. This place truly is a paradise! O’ahu has been inhabitied as early as the 3rd century A.D., and was at one time ruled by Maʻilikūkahi, or in our common tongue, The Lawmaker. However, in 1795, the King of Hawaii began the conquest of O’Ahu and soon after the islands were unified in 1810 and it wasn’t until 1959 that Hawaii became our 50th state. While not the largest of all the islands, it is the most populous, hence the nickname of “The Gathering Place”.
I’ve only got a couple of days on O’ahu for business meetings with a single day set aside to explore, so I gotta make this fast! I decided to do the O’ahu lap, which is to drive around the island, wish stops for lunch and sight seeing. Take a look at what I uncovered!
