Welcome back! Thanks for joining me on this adventure. Where am I this time? I’m in Bozeman, Montana for some client meetings and I WILL NOT leave this place without visiting the great Yellowstone National Park. First, I just gotta say; THANK YOU President Ulysses S. Grant for establishing this park, the first to become a National Park in our short, yet great, history, in 1872.
This place... it’s like a beautiful dream you never want to wake from. I only have 1 day... 1 DAY(!) to explore on my own. Ugh... why do I have two work trips planned back to back. Hush hush Niko... be thankful you have a job that ships you to some amazing places. So I begin... Hold up. I need to set the stage, deliver the monologue THEN pull the curtain. C’mon man, get it together.
You might be asking; What the heck is Roche Jaune? Well, it just so happens that Yellowstone National Park was originally known as Roche Jaune to French trappers near the end of the 18th century due to the river that runs through the park. Later on, American trappers translated the name to “Yellow Stone”, thus Yellowstone National Park.
“Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.”
I’ve got to get as much in as I can. Due to the time of year (winter) and my short window, I wouldn’t have enough time to explore the ENTIRE park but I’m determined to get in as much as I can. I’ll start my journey by driving south on Route 191 from Bozeman, through Big Sky, down to the West Yellowstone entrance and into the big park.
ON TO THE ADVENTURE!
